The Lancaster 89 map always features all 89 outdoor-dining locations. The official challenge will count the restaurants that approve and display their signs, and that roster will be locked on launch day. Your passport keeps track—no app download required.

Rolling out this season.The pilot passport shows the full master list of 89. The official contest roster will include only approved restaurants and will not change after launch. Test scans do not count toward prizes.

Restaurant owners and managers

Joining is free—and easy on your staff.

Approve one plainly marked, self-serve QR sign and confirm its location. Visitors scan it themselves; the website handles GPS verification, passports and progress. Donating a $25, $50 or $100 gift card is welcome but completely optional.

Lancaster 89 Challenge rules

The official start date and final eligibility details will be posted before the prize race begins. Until then, the website remains in test mode.

Start fresh on launch day

Only check-ins made after the announced official start time count. Every pilot passport and test stamp will be excluded from the prize race.

Be physically present

Scan that restaurant's unique sign while you are there and allow precise phone location. No purchase is required to enter.

One person, one passport

Each person may use one passport. Each restaurant can add only one verified stamp to that passport.

Milestone drawings

After an announced number of participants reaches each published milestone, eligible passports at that level enter a drawing. A person may win only one milestone prize but may still compete for the final grand prizes.

Complete the locked roster

After verification, the first finisher wins $100, the second wins $50 and the third wins $25 in participating restaurant gift cards.

Keep it honest

Shared QR images, false locations, GPS spoofing, duplicate accounts, automated check-ins or tampering can disqualify an entry.

Winner verification

WeLoveLancasterPA will review check-in times, locations and account information before confirming the winner by email.

Important:The participating roster, official dates, eligibility, milestone levels, drawing triggers, prize-card choices and winner response deadlines will be finalized before launch. The map's 89-location directory will not shrink if fewer restaurants enter the contest. Email, check-in time and submitted phone location are stored for passport progress, winner verification and fraud prevention; they are not displayed publicly.
